EXO’s D.O. (Do Kyung-soo) has always been known for one thing, which is his voice. When he debuted with EXO in 2012, fans immediately noticed his warm, smooth vocals that could make even the simplest line sound emotional.

He had a lot of high notes, melodic ballads, and soulful styles throughout his career. He quickly proved himself one of the strongest vocalists in the K-pop industry, with a calming voice that puts you in a relaxed state and makes you rethink your life choices.

He transitioned from music to acting, bringing a contrasting personality to the screen.  He shifted into acting with impressive range, starring in films like “Cart,” touching hearts in “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” playing a trouble-causing prosecutor in “The Bad Prosecutor,” and showing emotional depth in the traditional drama, “100 Days My Prince.” Over the years, he became known for his natural, unforced acting. And then, he surprised everyone again by becoming one of Korea’s most terrifying villains overnight.

His recent role in ‘The Manipulated” took things to an entirely new level. He plays An Yo Han, a cold, brilliant, and extremely dangerous antagonist. Fans who were used to his soft smile and gentle aura were shocked when he delivered a chilling and almost playful wickedness. His maniacal laugh sent shivers down spines, and his sharp, emotionless, and disturbingly calm psychopathic gaze became one of the show’s biggest highlights. It’s the kind of look that makes you lock your door at night just in case...

Even the leading actor, Ji Chang Wook, confessed that he was scared of him at some point and didn’t know whether D.O. was still acting or had been possessed. He was too cute for the wickedness he committed, leaving fans and viewers confused about whether they should give him a chance, but unfortunately, he was beyond repentance and redemption.

Yet, off-screen, he balances things out by appearing on variety shows where he laughs easily, cooks with friends, and quietly listens while everyone else talks. Programs like “Travel the World on EXO’s Ladder” and other ensemble shows reveal a completely different Kyung-soo. In these programs, he is shy, gentle, a little awkward, and very lovable. He bonds well with cast members, often becoming the calm center of the group while the others create chaos around him.

In real life, D.O. is famously humble. He prefers simple clothes, quiet schedules, and home-cooked meals. Many fans joke that he lives like an old man trapped in a young idol’s body, and honestly, he seems happy that way.

As for what to expect next, D.O. will likely continue surprising everyone. Today, he may play a villain who terrifies audiences; tomorrow, he may sing a soft ballad that brings tears. Whatever he chooses to do next, we’ll be watching carefully, and maybe from a safe distance if he’s in villain mode again.

Which of his dramas or songs do you love the most?
